Leona Weathersby (Antique) passed away at home on Monday, March 18, 2024. She was 75 years old.
Leona was born March 20, 1948, in Greenville, Mississippi to Jodie and Evelyn Edleston. She lived most of her life in Delta, Louisiana but later traveled with her husband in the military to North Carolina, Stuttgart, Germany and Leesville, Louisiana and later settled down in Tallulah, Louisiana. She was a homemaker and enjoyed collecting antiques and running the roads and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jodie and Evelyn Edleston of Delta, LA, her husband Pete Weathersby, Sr. of Flora, MS, her daughter Rhonda Kail Weathersby of Tallulah, La and her sister Joyce Edleston of Tallulah, LA.
She is survived by her companion of 13 years Randy Searcy of Newellton, LA, son Pete Weathersby, Jr. (Theresa) of Florida, daughters Betty Worrell (Joey) of Tallulah, LA, JoAnn Johnson (Frank) of Vicksburg, MS, Whonda Foreman (Richard) of Tallulah, LA, step-daughters Dorthy Hall (Josh) of West Monroe, LA, Sherry Searcy of West Monroe, LA and Brittany Searcy of Texas, and adopted daughter Rose Parker of Vicksburg, MS, brothers Jodie Edleston (Suzie) of Tallulah, LA, and Tommy Edleston (Shani) of Delta, LA, sisters Linda Ott (Robert) of West Point, MS, Bobby Sue Walker (Billy) of Tallulah, LA, Hazel Hammack (David) of Vicksburg, MS, Charlene Saldana (Felipe) of Tallulah, LA, Darlene Saldana (Baldo) of Tallulah, LA and Francelia Thomas (Hugh) of Tallulah, LA, 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 22, 2024, at 2:30p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, MS with Rev. Roger Cresswell officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 to the hour of the service Friday. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Busby, Patrick Busby, Dylan Johnson, Bryan Johnson, David Beckham and Walker Searcy. Honorary pallbearers will be Great grandchildren.
