Mrs. Dora Dean Templeton died on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Highland Home in Ridgeland, MS. She was 95.
Mrs. Templeton was born in Anguilla, MS on April 14, 1923 to her parents Joseph Armond and Frances Sandifer Stevens. She moved to Vicksburg as a child and remained a lifelong resident ever since. After a having a very successful garage sale, she, her sister Val Davis and her mother Frances Stevens decided to go into business. The three owned and operated Mawmaw's Resale Shop on Locust Street for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles Templeton, her son Kyle S. Smith; sisters Valerie Davis, Florence Hile, Dorothy Pogue and her brother Leonard Stevens.
She is survived by her son Samuel A. Smith; her brother Gordon Stevens; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Brian Ivey officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Samuel A. Smith, Rusty Haydel, Joe Stevens, Jacob Stevens and Ben Walker IV.
