Frances Rachel Hart Douglas, age 90 of Satartia, MS went to be with Her Lord and Savior December 28,2018. She left this life peacefully with her family at her side.
Frances was born December 22, 1928 to Leon and Edith Marshall Hart in Palatka, Florida.
She graduated from Mississippi College with honors completing her Master’s Degree in education. She taught at numerous schools in the Jackson area until her retirement in 1984. As a minister’s wife, she was dedicated to her church families. She used her teaching skills as Sunday school and church leader. She was an avid gardener, a fabulous cook, enjoyed reading, and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years Rev. Harry H. Douglas, and her son Wayne R. Douglas.
She is survived by her children, Dianne Belk (Freddie) of Satartia, Harry E. Douglas (Delores) of Flora, Patty Shropshire (Doss) of Redwood and Julie Peoples (Wendell) of Brandon, daughter-in-law Cathy Douglas of Tampa, FL., 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her until by God’s grace we are reunited with her, and all who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, to be together in eternity.
Services will be at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, MS January 5, 2019. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made to American Heart Association, or a church of your choice.
