Gladys A. Thornton

Gladys A. Thornton died Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at the Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 98.
Gladys was a native of Hinds Co. and had made her home in Vicksburg for most of her life. She was a loving homemaker who was devoted to her family and her church family. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Scott and Lula Leola Moody Knight; her husband, Willie R. Thornton; her son, Willie Scott Thornton; her 3 sisters. Lula Leola Reed, Ruby Ray Puckett and Frances E. Freeman and her 3 brothers, William Knight, John Robert Knight and Mack Thornton.
Survivors include her daughter, Martha Ann Kinnebrew of Vicksburg; her son, Billy Ray (Delores) Thornton of Vicksburg; her brother, James J. (Willie Jean) Knight of Trenton, GA; her 5 grandchildren, Brandi (Shane) Quimby, Tina Hearn, Nancy (J.R.) Robinson, Blake Thornton and Blair Thornton and her 3 great-grandchildren, Gage Quimby, Mason Quimby and Brayden Robinson.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 20, 2019, in the Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery with Wade Hammock officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM Friday until the hour of the service at Glenwood Funeral Home
Pallbearers will be Anthony Hearn, Shane Quimby, J.R. Robinson, Gage Quimby, Mason Quimby, and  Blake Thornton. Honorary pallbearer will be Brayden Robinson.
