Mrs. Hazel Parham Perkins passed away Friday, May 31, 2019. She was 96 years old.
Mrs. Perkins was born in Monroe County, Mississippi on August 21, 1922. She moved to the Delta when she was a teenager where she met and married Clyde, her husband for 67 years before his death. Mrs. Perkins lived in Tallula, MS for the past 59 years. She was a Christian homemaker, mother, mother-in-law, Nannie, neighbor and friend. She was also the oldest surviving member of the Rolling Fork Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband Clyde Perkins; son Clyde Jesse "CJ" Perkins; daughters Sharon Perkins Joslin and Linda Paulette Perkins Young; and a sister Sunshine Parham Ward, Joan Parham, Margurita Parham; brothers R.Q. Parham, O'Conner Parham, Robert Parham, Jr.,and Paul Ray Parham.
She is survived by her son Tim Perkins (Sharon); daughter Susan Perkins Walters (Coy); brother Hank Parham; sons-in-law Joe Joslin and Tom Young; daughters-in-law Mary Davis Perkins Cockrell and Connie Snyder Herman; 11 grandchilden and 22 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, June 3, 2019 at 1:00 P.M.at Rolling Fork Church of Christ with visitation starting at 11:00 A.M. with Coy Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Young, Calvin Young, John Robert Thomason, Eddie Joslin, Barry Joslin, Trey Walters and Ty Walters.
