Nita W. Geter

Nita W. Geter passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was 89.

Nita was born May 1, 1930, the daughter of Wilbure B. and Hulda Owens Walker. She worked at McRaes for many years and was the office manager for A&G Trucking Company. She was a member of Redbone United Methodist Church for 52 years.

Nita was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Leona Bullard, Eva Vines and Ernestine Hunter; and grandson, Rusty Geter.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil Geter; daughter, Carolyn Bonner (Robert); sons Clifton Geter (Melissa), Jimmy Geter (Leigh Ann); brothers, Edward Walker and Clarence Walker; sisters, Kathleen Pittman and Pearl Carter; grandchildren, Joshua Geter, Nicholas Geter, Austin Geter, Shondell Havard and Cody Escher; great-grandchildren, Davis Havard and Jack Havard.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. John Evans officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Josh Geter, Nicholas Geter, Austin Geter, Carl Walker, Jerry Hunter and Gaylon Hunter.
