Rebecca Ann Deckard

Memorial services for Mrs. Rebecca Coody Deckard will be Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Rebecca passed away September 10, 2018.

Rebecca was born December 31, 1953 in Delhi, Louisiana to the late Vallie and Buford Coody. She graduated from Tallulah High School and went on to work as a kindergarten teacher at Wright Elementary and began school at Hinds Community College, where she got her associate's degree as a registered nurse. She devoted her life to helping other people and truly loved her job as a nurse. She was a kind hearted individual with a great sense of humor. She will be remembered by the many people whose lives she touched. She was dedicated to improving the lives of others and helping people every chance she got and she will be deeply and fondly missed by many.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Merle John Deckard, and she was a loving mother to her two children, Jennifer Nicole Deckard and Kyle Elliott Deckard and a loving grandmother to her 5 grandchildren, Trey Harold, Alexis Knight, Breanna Deckard, Addison Knight, and Annalise Deckard, and she is also survived by her 6 siblings, Bill Coody, Edna C. Hearn, Renae C. Bolton, Brenda C. Henley, Carolyn (Kitty) Coody, and Robert O. Coody, and many other relatives and friends.
