Shelley Skelton

Shelley Skelton died Saturday, July 13, 2019, at her residence. She was 58.

A native of Flint, Michigan, she lived most of her life in the Utica area. The morning before her passing she donated a German Shepard puppy to the Wounded Warrior Project. She and Jerry were married 42 years. She had 3 children and 1 son-in-law. She loved them dearly. She was very encouraging and supportive of her family and friends. Shelley was patient, selfless, and always giving to others. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Utica.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Skelton and her father-in-law, Clyde Skelton.

Survivors include her husband Jerry; her 2 daughters, Ashley Skelton (Nathan) Lidia of Brandon and Kaitlyn Skelton of Utica; her parents, Peggy and J.R. Burroughs of Midlothian, TX; her 2 sisters, Brenda (Tony) Hudson of Alvarado, TX and Debbie (Harold) Addington of Ft. Worth, TX; her 2 brothers, Chris Bagwell of Pearl, MS and Jay (Valerie) Burroughs of Alvarado, TX; her step-sister, Rhonda Burroughs Parr of Frisco, TX; her step-brother; Ricky Burroughs of Byram, MS; her mother-in-law, Sue Skelton of Utica and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Jack DeMoney officiating. Interment will follow in the Faith Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 16, 2019, from 6 until 8 PM at Faith Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Jay Burroughs, Chris Bagwell, Harvey Skelton, Don Scipper, P.J. Smith and Harold Addington.
