Steve Dennis

Steve was born on October 3, 1948, in Vicksburg MS to the late Paul and Mary Dennis.
After graduating from Delta State University in 1972 Steve went to work with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. During his 38 year career there, he held many management positions with his final position being Director of Complex Claims. He was an active member of many prestigious insurance committees in the southeast region and very well respected in the insurance industry.
Steve enjoyed golfing, going to the beach, and spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and always put family first. He will be remembered for his genuine smile, infectious laugh, and entertaining stories. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
He is preceeded in death by his parents Paul and Mary Dennis. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Barbara Dennis, his two daughters Amy D’Alexander(Jim) of Atlanta, GA, KC Paulk (Stuart) of Columbia, SC and his five grandchildren Ava, Cade & Mary D’Alexander and Carson and Ethan Paulk, his brother Ronald Dennis (Helen) of Birmingham, AL, his nephews Ronald Dennis Jr, Michael Dennis (Sarah) and Cameron Dennis (Ashley), niece Ashley Bryant (Bud), sister in law JoAnn Smith (Woody) and many great-nieces and nephews.                          Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Glenwood Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Dennis, Michael Dennis, Cameron Dennis, Jim D’Alexander, Stuart Paulk, and Andy Gibson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ethan Paulk, Cade D’Alexander, Ken Grogan, Dean Andrews, Mike Corbin, Jerry Hall, John Chambers, and John Prewitt.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
