Vivian Chisholm, Nini, Aunt Nita passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of August 20, 2019. She was surely greeted at the gates of Heaven by her mother and father, Sally and Thomas Norris, her children Debbie and Billy, and her sisters Bobby, Kathy, and Marilyn. Free from the illness and pain that had hindered her for the last several years, greeted with open arms by all her family that went before and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Vivian Chisholm was a gentle, compassionate, humble, loving, and kind person her entire life. Many can testify to never seeing her unpleasant or angry. She was a servant to her work in early life and then a servant to her family, friends, and church in her later years. She retired after 40 years as a waitress and moved home to help care for her ill sisters and mother. She loved her family with her whole heart and was always smiling, loving, and giving. She was always available to listen and sympathize with those around her. She was always available for children. She could play, blow bubbles, or simply watch and listen to all questions a young kid could ask throughout the lives of her great-nephews and nieces. Often you would see her car heading to the store to pick up toys or treats for them. Especially near and dear to her heart was her precious Aiden Schafft, the light of her life. She will be missed and was truly an example of a humble, meek, and gentle spirit.
"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight." 1 Peter 3:3.
She is survived by her sons Don Chisholm and his wife Sharon, the most devoted daughter-in-law that anyone could wish for, and Ronnie Chisholm; daughter Vivian McBride; two sisters Ann Wyatt and June Kelly; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Deer Creek Baptist Church from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. and services beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Bob Gilland officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery. Glenwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Chisholm, Dennis Killebrew, Marty Long, Tommy Kelly, Thomas Kelly, Johnathan Schafft, and Aiden Schafft.
