Willis Weldon Garrard passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019. He was 90 years old.
Willis was born in Louisville, Ms, but has lived in Vicksburg for over 60 years.
He loved to garden. Willis always had a garden growing in the summer. He also loved to hunt, fish, do wood work, work in the shop, and engage in his children and grandchildrens sports and activities. He loved his grand babies, and great grand babies very much.
Willis served two terms in the Korean War, and was in the Armed Forces for many years. He retired from the Warren County Road Department.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Willie Mavis Garrard, also his parents, Miran Jospehine Duran and John Weldon Garrard, his 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his 2 sons; Wayne Garrard(Linda) and Prentiss Garrard(Joan), his brother Alvin Garrard, his 4 grandchildren; Shane Garrard(Brittany), Erik Garrard, Heather Garrard(Hewitt), and Lindsey Garrard 7 great-grandchildren; Mia Garrard, Chase McNeill, Alyssia Kyzar, Hayden McNeill, Elaina Garrard, Clinton Measell and Gabriella Hope Garrard.
Pallbearers will include, Bradley Lambert, Spencer Barrineau, Ryan Lewis, Hewitt Tapp, Ryan McNeill and Jimbo Shiers.
A visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 9:00 am until the hour of service. The funeral service will follow immediately after the visitation at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Brother Hammock will be officiating the service.
