Aldis Nevels

With deep love and remembrance, we announce the passing of Aldis Nevels, affectionately known as “Bubba”, who left us on November 5, 2025, at the age of 52. Bubba was born on January 28, 1972, in Fayette, Mississippi, to his loving parents James and Mary Nevels. He spent much of his life helping others, in Lorman, Mississippi, where he was known for his warm heart.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents James L. Nevels, Jr. and Mary Ruth Nevels; brothers James L. Nevels, III “Jimmy” and William B. Nevels; sister Frances Nevels and nephew Leroy Peshoff.

Bubba is survived by his cherished daughter, Mary Helen Nevels, whom he loved deeply and unconditionally. She was the light of his life, and their bond was a source of great pride and joy for him. He also leaves adopted children; his brother Richard Nevels (Saundra); sisters Effie House (Steven), Brenda Scott (George) and Rose Nevels; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends who will forever remember him.

As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life well-lived, and a man deeply loved. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 10:00 until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jacob McBay, James McBay, Taylor Arriaga, Bobby Isonhood, Noah Rimes, Brandon Richard and Kaleb Henson.

Honorary pallbearers are Charles Strittman, Blake Charles, Steven House, Daniel Case and William Gerald.
