Alexander Franklin Gunn, age 85 of Hermanville, Mississippi passed away on February 28, 2026.
He was born in Waelder, Texas to the late Alexander Gunn and Leila Davis Gunn. He was also preceded in death by his son Frank Alan Gunn and sister Nina V. Marsh Cyphers.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years Carol Walton Gunn and daughter Sandra Lynn Gunn Gregors (Tommy), grandson Alexander Martin Householder (Michelle), great-grandchildren Kenneth and Gabriel Householder. Additional survivors include his sister Betty Ann Carol, sister-in-laws Patricia Lott and Joyce Gonzales (Jesse), and numerous nephews and nieces.
Franklin served in the Navy for six years. Atter his honorable discharge, Franklin and Carol lived in Houston. He worked for various companies until he opened his own metal coating business. He sold his business and moved to Hermanville in 1980 and enjoyed working on his farm. He was a skilled pilot, mechanic, and loved collecting vintage cars. Particularly his 1955 Mercury Montclair.
He loved his animal and livestock. Particularly blue heelers. He raised many over the years and enjoyed and respected their loyalty, independence, and personality. Frank and Carol's current dog Abby, while not a blue heeler, was his last loyal companion.
Funeral service will be at 11 am Friday, March 6, 2026, at Hermanville Baptist Church with the Reverends Doug Salley and Marcus Peagler presiding. Visitation with family will be held after the service in the church fellowship hall.
