Alvin Holman, Sr. Obituary


Alvin M. Holman, Sr. died Thursday, June 3, 2021, at his sons residence in Carrollton, AL. He was 63.
A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Alvin was employed as an auto mechanic at various auto dealerships in Vicksburg, For the past 5 years, he had been making his home in Carrollton with his son. While living in Vicksburg, Alvin was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and attended Arbor Springs Baptist Church in Reform, AL.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Dudley, Sr. and Ruth Goode Holman; three brothers, Melvin Holman, Eddie Holman and Harold "Pee-Wee" Holman.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn F. Holman; his daughter, Angie (Norment) McElvoy; his sons, Alvin (Rebecca) Holman, Jr. and B.J. Holman; his sister, Sue Holman; his brothers, Sterling Holman, Jesse Holman, James Holman and Ted Holman and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with his son, Rev. Alvin Holman, Jr., officiating.
Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sterling Holman, Trey Holman, James Holman, Ted Holman, Teddy Holman and Norment McElvoy.
