Argle Pennington, Sr.

Argle Pennington, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. He was 78 years old.

Argle was born on February 4, 1947, the son of Luther Pennington and Lizzie May Jackson Pennington. Argle graduated from Utica High School. He worked for Marathon LeTourneau for 5 years, then working for Bechtel in Port Gibson for 8 years, he retired from US Army Corps of Engineers on the Mat Sinking Unit. Argle loved sports, he coached YMCA Football and Basketball he also loved hunting and fishing. Argle loved his family.

Argle is preceded in death by his parents, a son Brad Pennington, and a sister Sondra Cook. He is survived by his son Argle Pennington, Jr., daughters Angel Graham, Pamela Wilmont, and Salley Badalucco, sisters Maryann Gatewood and Dorothy Nut, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Glenwood Funeral Home at 11:00 am in the chapel with Rev. Ronnie Purser officiating. A visitation will be from 9:00 am until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Utica Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Strong, Mark Mitchell, Nick Mitchell, Tyler Gatewood, Luke Willis, and Andy Fisher. Honorary pallbearers will be Hiram Gatewood and Jared Soverns.
