Audrey Boren Deviney, peacefully passed away on December 15, 2024, one day before her 97th birthday, at Claiborne County Senior Care. Born December 16, 1927, to the late Thomas Gordon Boren and Fannie Marie Higgins Boren. She grew up in Pattison and graduated from Port Gibson High School. She lived a long, blessed life.
Audrey retired from the Farmer’s Home Administration after more than forty years of federal service. She loved her vegetable garden and pulling grass. She was a friend to all who knew her and loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Glen Deviney, her son, Kenneth Deviney, and her siblings, Allen Boren, Thomas Boren, Jr., Floyd Boren, Carl Boren, Alma Howard and Thomas Boren III.
She is survived by her sister, Janice Boren Jones, sister-in-law Helen Jones Boren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and Special Friend Mabel “Doll Baby" Noble.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Headley, Claiborne County Senior Care Staff, and Arden Home Health and Hospice for their dedicated care.
A graveside memorial service will be held next month on February 22 at 2:00 PM at Wintergreen Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers any remembrance be made to Wintergreen Cemetery, Port Gibson, Ms., or your charity of choice.
