Bobbie Jean Matthews Harbin was born in Star, MS and grew up in Vicksburg, MS. She married Charles L Harbin in 1957. Charles was in the US Navy, and they lived in Georgia, Maryland, Newfoundland, Virginia and Mississippi. She was a lifelong member of Woodlawn Baptist Church where she was involved in BMDI (Baptist Medical Dental International) in Honduras, and served in the bus ministry for many years. Bobbie Jean worked for Sydney House, Heritage House and Magnolia RV Park. She attended Culkin School 12 years.
She is preceded by her husband, Charles L. Harbin; parents, Homer W. Matthews and Katie Sandifer Matthews; brothers, Paul Matthews and Glen Matthews; sister, Juanice Raines.
She is survived by her son, Charles Paul Harbin (Mary Elizabeth); daughter, Dianne Wade (Bill-late); William Joe Wade III, Katy Wade Owen (Brian), Ashley Wilson (Bradley). Allaina Kolb (Karl) and Anna Hopkins (Austin); great-grandchildren, Clare Owen, Judson Owen, Abel Hopkins, Anson Hopkins, Auden Hopkins, Lane Wilson, Addi Wilson and Kyndall Kolb; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Glenwood Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Kent Campbell. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Karl Kolb, Bradley Wilson, Austin Hopkins, Eddie Smith, Tim Hunter and Ty McCain.
