Bobby Frederick Oglesby passed away Friday, January 13, 2023. He was 88 years old.
Mr. Oglesby was born May 11, 1934, in Meadville, Mississippi to Frank and Myrtis Oglesby. He was raised in Franklin County, graduating high school as a multi-sport athlete, excelling in both baseball and football. Following his service, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned a bachelor’s degree and met his wife, Patricia Oglesby. Following retirement, Mr. Oglesby spent his time traveling the country, driving their motorhome to every continental state of the US (with the exception of Rhode Island) and, outside of his home state of Mississippi, Alaska was his absolute favorite. Mr. Oglesby also had a great love for hunting, fishing, and playing his mandolin with his local music group, an activity affectionately referred to as “pickin’ and grinnin’”.
