Bobby Ray Owens

Bobby Ray Owens passed away on January 5, 2022, at the age of 74.

Bobby was born on November 6, 1947, the son of A. W. Burton Owens and Aaron Florine Stovall Owens.  He worked in commercial construction all of his life and attained the status of Master Carpenter.  He could build anything, make anything with his hands and carve anything out of a block of wood.  

He was preceded in death by his parents A. W. Burton Owens and Aaron Owens Edwards, brother Harold Owens and sisters Patsy Day and Bonnie West.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Brenda Scott Owens, daughter Shannon Hoben (Todd), brother Robert Cross (Doll) and his sister Linda Skalberg (Jim).  He is also survived by his granddaughter and the light of his life Anna Katherine Hoben.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Glenwood Funeral Home.  The service will be officiated by Rev. Jack Andrews.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bubba Lawrence, Mike Stevens, Mark Stevens, Frank Scott, Patrick Day and Phillip Grantham.  Honorary pallbearers will be Preston Holman, Junior Scallions, Terry West, Curtis West and Randy Vessell.
