Brenda Kay Johnson Woods, of Delta City, passed away July 18, 2024, at the age of 70. She was born in Cleveland, MS to Johnny and Cecil Louise Pardon Johnson on August 16, 1953.
Brenda loved to play games with her family. Being overly competitive, she never let anyone win. She also enjoyed cooking and cleaning, but she especially loved being an RN. Her family will remember her as being a very loving person to not only the family but to her patients as well. Brenda also enjoyed eating at Mexican restaurants where she always made sure they brought extra lemons for her sweet tea. She was a member of James Road Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Cecil Pardon Johnson and her sister, Betsy Davis.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Dwayne Woods; son, Kevin Dwayne Woods (Rachel); daughters, Tracy Woods Sorrels (Casey), Brandy Woods Winters (Jeff), and Carolyn Cole Tillis; sisters, Faye Potter and Libby Byrd (Phillip); grandchildren, Kyle Sorrels, Carigan Sorrels Tradesco (Trent) , Aleena Woods, Lainey Woods, Dawson Woods, Aaron Woods, Hannah Winters, Sarah Winters, and Mary Elizabeth Winters; and great-grandchild, Emma Grace Louise Tradesco.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Kyle Sorrels, Dawson Woods, Aaron Woods, Ty Daves, Austin Cooper, and Trent Tradesco. Honored to serve as honorary pallbearers are Randal Woods and Tom Price.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11 A.M. at Delta City Baptist Church with Reverends Casey Sorrels and Nick Smith presiding. A visitation will be held from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be at Vickland Cemetery in Delta City, MS.
