Cecil Steele, Jr.

Cecil Steele, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. He was 75 years old. He was born in Jackson, MS on April 7, 1950, to Cecil Steele, Sr. and Roberta Fields Steele. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, watching John Wayne westerns and war movies. He loved preaching, painting with his sons, and being with his wife. He never wanted to leave her side, and they never spent anytime apart. He beat cancer and a triple bypass. One of his favorite verses was "Faith without works is dead."

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Steele, Sr. and Roberta Fields; step-dad, Bob Fields; sisters, Joyce Massey and Judy Henderson.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Esther Steele; sons, Brett Steele (Crystal), Victor Cavasos (Becky), Cecil Steele III and Christopher Steele (Katy); daughters, Rebecca Steele, Angie Welch (Gerald) and Esther Temple (Matt); sisters, Janis Welborn and Pamela Pennington (Joe); grandchildren, Christian, Chloe, Isabel, Stella, Haley, Shelby, Chris, Emma, Harrison, Tori, Cecila, Eli, Ashton; numerous great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. A memorial service will be at 4:00 P.M. with Rev. Mike Fields and Rev. Bill Talbert officiating the service.
