Charles Ray Perkins, Sr. passed away on October 12, 2021 at the age of 92.
Charles was born on August 14, 1929, the son of John Sparrow Perkins and Elizabeth Key Perkins. He was a certified welder and worked at Grand Gulf, Ingalls Shipbuilding and went to Africa while working for LeTourneau. He loved hunting and fishing. Fishing was his most favorite and he went every chance he could.
He is survived by his wife Mary Jean Perkins; sons Charles Ray Perkins, Jr. (Glenda), Richard B. Perkins and Michael Terry Perkins; daughter Tammy Andrus (Stanley Thames); brother Frank Perkins (Natoma); grandchildren Frank Liles, AustinLiles, Michael Perkins, Jr., Jonathon Carlton, Rebecca Oliphant, Chase Perkins, Hali Ragel, McKenzie Wilson and Chat Perkins; great-grandchildren Easton Liles, Rylan Liles, Peyton Ragel, Cameron Ragel, Cayden Kle, Brayden Perkins and Ford Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork. Visitation will be from 2:00 until the hour of the service.
