Charles Raymond "Chuck" Wood, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Raymond “Chuck” Wood, Jr., age 64, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Ricky Jones officiating at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton, Louisiana.

Mr. Wood passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020, at his home in Vicksburg, Mississippi, surrounded by his family. He was born February 24, 1956, in Newellton, Louisiana, to Charles Raymond Wood, Sr. and Shirley Perritt Wood. Chuck loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family. He grew up in Newellton and started cattle ranching with his father when he was a young boy. He also was a problem solver and was successful at taking things apart and putting them back together. He enjoyed 4-H, showing calves, and riding bulls. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was a good hearted and kind man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be missed by many.

Mr. Wood is preceded in death by his wife of 15 years, Emma Gill Wood; his parents, Charles Raymond Wood, Sr. and Shirley Wood, and his grandparents, Raymond Stanley and Stella Wood and Stacy and Chloe Perritt.

He is survived by his two daughters, Heidi Jackson (Kevin) of Madison, Mississippi, and Heather Underhill of Vicksburg, Mississippi; three sisters, Cheryl Thrash (David) of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Sonya Wood of Morrison, Tennessee, and Teresa York (Jeff) of Pensacola, Florida; four grandchildren, Matthew Wheelock, Cade Gregory, Hadley Underhill, and Keegan Jackson; nieces and nephews, Denton Stokes (Sarah), Brandi Williams (Scotty), Holly French (Tristan), Charles Garrett York, Jordan Snow (Chris), and Jenni McNair (Hunter); great nieces and nephews, Maddie Stokes, Sawyer French, Wiley Stokes, Lyla McNair, Cadence Williams, and Julianna McNair; and many cousins.

Pallbearers will be Lawrence Perritt, Kevin Jackson, Jeff York, David Thrash, Carl Stokes, and Matthew Wheelock. Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Wood, Mike Owen, Denton Stokes, Monty “Squirrel” Thornton, Billy McDuff, Chris Snow, and Jimmy Vizcarrondo.
