Dan Wood Hall passed away from ALS on May 30, 2025, at UMMC in Jackson, Mississippi.
Dan's life was rooted deeply in his hometown of Vicksburg. He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church and the Vicksburg Lion's Club. Dan had a heart for service and a spirit that drew people in. He loved his church and found great joy in teaching Sunday School. Known for never meeting a stranger, he was always eager to lend support-whether by cooking pork rinds, working on boats and motors, grilling or by anyway he could. His presence was a constant source of encouragement, laughter, and energy within his church and community.
Family was the cornerstone of Dan's life. He is survived by his wife, Beth Hall of Vicksburg; his children Lindsay Pittman (Matt) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, and Jay Hall (Sarah) of Clinton, Mississippi; his beloved grandchildren Cade and Kinsley Hall, and Maci and Linley Pittman. Dan also leaves behind two brothers: Todd Hall (Kelly) of Clinton, Mississippi, and William Hall (Pam) of Ferriday, Louisiana; along with several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and a grandnephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Betty Hall, and a brother, James Hall.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Vicksburg on Saturday, June 14th at noon. Visitation will be from 11:00 until the time of the service.
