David Byrnes Obituary

David Lucian “Luke” Byrnes, 58, of Carlisle, MS, passed away on January 4, 2021.

Luke was born on April 17, 1962, to William H. Byrnes and Darlene Emerson in Vicksburg, MS. He was preceded in death by his father.

Luke is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Dena Byrnes, his two children, Brittney Clune (Tommy) and Hudson Byrnes (Krista), and his two grandchildren, Jake and Maggie Harper Clune. He is also survived by his mother, Darlene Emerson, his brother, Herschel Byrnes (Lonnie), and his two sisters Anita Watkins (Parham) and Susan McCalman (Joseph), along with his loving aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Luke was an avid hunter, who loved spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren. He had many friends, as he never met a stranger, and he always had a kind word and smile for everyone. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

A visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, from 5 o’clock p.m. to 8 o’ clock p.m. A graveside funeral will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at the Byrnes family cemetery (McCaleb Family Hermitage) in Carlisle, MS at 1 o’ clock p.m.
