David Oneal Roberts, Jr.

David Oneal Roberts, Jr. passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023. He was born in Vicksburg, MS on March 30, 1958. Dave left behind a huge legacy. He loved big, his love for his wife, Sherry, his kids, and grandkids was huge. Dave was an outspoken Christian and was always sharing his faith. Dave was an avid tinkerer, building anything he could, from the Trebuche, chicken plucker, to his latest, a target turner for his 4-H Team. His loved showed through with him, learning to braid his wife and daughters hair, decorating his kids birthday cakes, building AWANA Cars, and anything else that was needed. He loved to "dress" for the Occasion, from the Roman Centurian- to Bigfoot! His love extended beyond just his family to his bringing home strays. Whether those were animals or humans. Some stay long term, others only a day. Dave was a joker, always making people laugh. But he would also listen to anyone. He was active in the community, especially in the Warren County 4-H Program. Where he helped lead the Warren County straight shooters. He was a very hard worker. He loved big, played big, worked big and is now living big at the feet of Jesus.

He is preceded in death by his mother Ruby Saxton Worthy; son, Cary Roberts; daughter, Kelli Roberts.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sherry Roberts; father, David Oneal Roberts, Sr.; sons, Kelsey Roberts (Kenzie), Colin Roberts (Michelle), Jason Roberts, Zachary Roberts; daughters, Bethany Runyan (Charles), Selah Roberts, Shiloh Lahr (Brandon) and Rachel Roberts; sisters Sandy Lovell (Dane), Judy Heidenreich (Steve), Donna Pevey (Scott); grandchildren, Caleb Roberts, Lillian Roberts, Benjamin Roberts, Abigail Roberts, Mila Roberts, Elias Runyan, Gareth Runyan, Amethyst Runyan, Iris Runyan, Verin Runyan and Ashlyn Pitts, Isabella Pitts, Kayden Pitts and Piper Lahr.

A Celebration of Life for David Roberts will be Saturday, May 6, 2023, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, 2878 Old Hwy 27, Vicksburg, MS, 39183. Anyone wishing to speak will be able to do that.
