Dawn Marie McCarty, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in Delhi, LA.
Dawn was born in Newellton, LA and was a proud graduate of Tensas Academy. She attended LSU and was an avid fan of all LSU sports.
She followed her passion for music and moved to Nashville, TN and established a country music band. She also recorded a few country music records. Dawn could play many instruments, but her greatest love was the piano and guitar.
Later in life she moved back to Louisiana and opened her own massage clinic, Therapeutic Massages. She was invited to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China to participate as a massage therapist for the Olympians.
She recently moved to Delhi, LA where she found joy in camping and fishing on the bayou and the simple things in life. She attended Waverly Baptist Church where she played the piano at times.
Dawn was preceded in death by father Glen McCarty, her mother Ann Laird Kukor, and brother-in-laws Don Wade Doyle and Randy McClure.
She is survived by her sister Lynn Doyle Riggs, nieces Lindsey Bradley (Chase) and Lexie Alexander (Kevin), great-nieces Kaylee Doyle, Avery Alexander, Elvie Grace Bradley, and a great-nephew Camdon Alexander.
The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation for all the care and love her uncle John Laird provided to Dawn when she moved to Delhi.
