Dean Ashley

Funeral services for Mr. H. Dean Ashley, age 81, will be Monday, July 22, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with Dr. Matt Buckles officiating and assisted by J. C. Caldwell. Visitation will be Monday, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah.

Dean was born in Natchez, Mississippi to George Houston and Edna Ashley on May 10, 1938. He attended Meadville High School and graduated in 1956. He served in the U. S. Army and was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was a meat market manager for A&P in Vicksburg, Mississippi for 46 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Ashley and his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy S. Ashley, daughter, Balinda Ashley Whitehead (Steve), son, Shane Ross (Christine), 7 grandchildren, Jonathan Whitley, Jarret Whitley, Elizabeth Ross, Justin Ross, Makayla Ross, Maggie Ross, and Robert Ross, and 4 great grandchildren, Jacob, Jaxson, Jonah and Saylor Whitley.
