Della Burnside Word

Della Burnside Word passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. She was 74 years old.

Della was born in Chester, IL on January 3, 1952. She was a floral designer and homemaker. 

Della is preceded in death by her parents George Rader and Sylvia Neihouse Rader, 3 sons George Burnside, Charlie Burnside, and Jason Burnside, brothers Charlie Rader, Russ Rader Wib Rader and George Rader, sisters Sharon Ramsey, Sandra Thomas, And Wanda Thornton.

She is survived by her husband Ed Word, daughter Valerie Burnside, granddaughter Alisa Burnside Gregory, grandson Gavin Burnside, great-grandchildren Charlie Burnside, Jase Burnside, Cass Burnside, Chandler Gregory, and Mariah Gregory, also by her 2 guard dogs Baxter and Bella.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Dewayne Kelsey officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Monday.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
