When Demi Lee Emerson went to be with the Lord, our world lost a most loving and generous being.
In the early morning hours of January 28, 2025, Demi passed away in her sleep.
Born November 30, 1965, Demi lived her first few years in the Shiloh area of Claiborne County. She spent most of her life growing up in Yokena, enjoying the country life and developing a love of nature that was with her until the end.
Demi graduated from Warren Central High School and attended Hinds Jr. College.
While spending some years in the food industry she honed her cooking and decorating skills. Later she became a phlebotomy technician and worked at UMMC as well as other medical positions in Vicksburg and Port Gibson. Being a loving and caring soul, she also provided care for the elderly or ill.
Her parents, now deceased, were Lee Thomas and Miriam Emerson.
Very dear to Demi, was her fiancé, Timmy Stewart who passed away in October, 2024.
Demi leaves behind her precious daughters, Leah Emerson and Anna Templeton and well as her brothers, David (Donna), Karl (Vickie) and Kevin (Amanda). Also mourning her loss are her aunt Sandy Cooper (Jerry), her uncle Ron Jacobson (Felicia), her uncle Ray Emerson, five nieces and a nephew, great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins and friends.
When one remembers Demi, they will most likely remember a beautiful smile, a heart so full of love that she would rarely meet a stranger, and a generosity hard to match.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 31 at Glenwood Funeral Home from 4:00 – 6:30 PM. A graveside service will be held Monday, February 3 at Yokena Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Rev. Billy Talbert officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers are Corrie Spivey, Buddy and Annelle Parman, Danny and Charlotte Daniels, Donna Roseman, Lisa Tyler Gilbert, Charles Pettway, Tina Hearn, David Jackson, and Randy Stewart.
The family would like to thank the staff of Claiborne County Senior Care and Arden Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
