Desiree Dawn Elizabeth Owens was born on November 7, 1999 in Kosciusko, MS. She left our world to be with Jesus on October 23, 2024, as a result of a motorcycle crash in Hinds County, MS on Interstate 20.
Desiree grew up in West, MS and also in Redwood, MS where she met her future husband, Gaylon, when they were just young children. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter. sister and friend to many. She loved her family, her extended families and friends with her own brand of kindness, love, compassion and a giving heart. Desiree loved her husband, Gaylon, and their three children, Wheeler, Gauge and Maddie Moo. Their world was her world. Desiree and Gaylon were united in marriage on December 16, 2020, at the riverfront park, in front of the big Christmas tree, on one of the coldest evenings in Vicksburg, MS in truly one of the fastest nuptials on record. They lived a beautiful love story making their family home in Redwood, MS.
Desiree had ambitions to continue her studies and finalize her degree at Holmes Community College in the field of Medical Billing and Coding. Her desire was to work remotely from home to be there for her children and Gaylon. She had a bubbly, funny and witty personality making it easy for people to like and to love her. The little things in life meant the most to Desiree. She was happy and grateful for the life she lived. For those who knew and loved her, she will forever live in our hearts and is sorely missed.
