Maxine A. Pace of Vicksburg passed away peacefully Thursday night July 22, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Maxine, or Mama Max as so many knew her, was a native of Butler, Alabama. She and her husband, Martin, moved to Vicksburg in 1979. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mama Max ran a successful in-home daycare for many children over 20+ years. Throughout her career as a caregiver she was blessed to love and care for multiple generations of families.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents JC Allen and Fannie Allen Crenshaw, loving husband W. Martin Pace, son Marlon Blane Garrison, daughter Thracie Lexine Pace, and grandson Damon Pace.
She is survived by her sister Margie Richardson, son Preston Pace (Shannon Pace), Pam Garrison, and grandchildren Taylor Rae Newton, and Braxton and Greyson Pace.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Glenwood Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a service will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Reverend Dwight Sibley will be officiating.
Pallbearers include Scott Clanton, Marty Collins, Lynn Nettles, and Preston Pace.
