Dorothy passed away at her home in Vicksburg surrounded by her family. She was 94.
Dorothy was born October 15, 1931, in Vicksburg where she spent her whole life. She was an active and dedicated lifelong member of Porters Chapel Methodist Church. She was devoted to her daily bible study and prayer. She retired from Jett High School serving over 20 years in the school lunch program. Her family and grandchildren were the love of her life. She was the happiest when her home was filled with her family and friends. The family would extend its sincere appreciation to her care givers and all at St. Joseph Hospice Care.
She was preceded in death by her parents Emmette Elwood Bell and Gertrude Davis Bell. Her husband Fred Henry Wells Sr. and infant twin daughters, her sisters Frances Holtslander and Jewell Rook.
She is survived by her three sons Henry (Gail) Wells, David (Colleen) Wells and Robert (Shelli) Wells. One daughter Janice (Curtis) Brewer all of the Vicksburg area. Her brother John Elwood (Joan) Bell devoted adopted daughter Wanda Lott and numerous nieces and nephews. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter who will be arriving in May.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday March 31, 2026 at 11:00 am at Porters Chapel Church Cemetery in Vicksburg, Ms.
