Edna Earl Morrison Cessna passed away on February 1, 2025, at her home in Utica. She was 91.
Edna was born on October 13, 1933, the daughter of Arthur Morrison and Della Mae Gunter Morrison. She taught Sunday School at Utica Baptist Church for over 50 years. She also worked with Samaritan’s Purse for many years. She retired from the Utica School system after a long career. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, and cooking, she especially loved deserts. Most of all she loved taking care of her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene Cessna, son Fred Cessna, granddaughter Holly Cessna and siblings Doyle Morrison, Raymond Morrison, Lucille Davis, Betty Jo Chapell, Ruby Bryant and Vela Moore.
She is survived by her sons Roy Cessna (Kathy), Bill Cessna and Eugene Cessna (Sundra), daughter Della Leach, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1, great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Utica Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Dennis Franklin and Rev. Webb Armstrong. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Glenwood Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Chris James, Jessie James, Cody Cessna, Alan Cessna, Cody Adkins, Chad Cessna, and Christopher Rodgers.
