Ellene Ezell Barnes

Ellene Ezell Barnes,95, went to her heavenly home surrounded by her family October 3, 2020. 

Ellene Barnes was a picture of a loving wife, mother, and Christian woman. 

Ellene's strong support of her husband enabled him to do all he did. They truly served well as a team. Carl and Ellene touched countless lives. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Carl S. Barnes and her son Steve Barnes. 

Those left to cherish her memories are daughter, Sherry Barnes Mahaffey (Don) of Mendenhall; son, Mark Barnes (Susan) of El Dorado Arkansas. Grandchildren who loving called her "Meme", Leslie Stephens (Jimmy), Courtney Owens (Chuck), Natasha Brooks (Donny), Carla Boutwell, Amanda Malone (Shane), and Matt Barnes ( Nikki); Thirteen great grandchildren; and Five great-great grandchildren "We are what we are because of her." 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 10:00am at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, Ms. 

A funeral will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home at 11:00am with Rev. Larry Hudson officiating. 

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.  

Pallbeares will be Trace Shoup, Anthony Hughes, Matt Barnes, Trace Owens, Turner Owens, and Ricky Atkinson.
