Emma Faye McCoy Pettway, affectionately known as Faye, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Lina McCoy; her loving husband, Walter Raymond Pettway; her daughter, Cathy Pettway Greenwald; son-in-law, Kevin Greenwald; and two brothers.
Faye leaves behind a devoted family: daughters Gail King of Tampa, FL, Pam Spickard (Dave) of Little Rock, AR, and son Cecil Pettway (Sheila) of Monroe, GA. She also leaves seven beloved grandchildren: Ryan, Jeremy, and Renee King; Kristen and James Spickard; Nickolas Pettway; and Daniel Greenwald, as well as two great-grandchildren, Wayne and Moonee Pettway.
Faye’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was present for each of their births and cherished every moment spent with them. Faye was an avid seamstress, known for creating beautiful dresses and costumes for her daughters and granddaughters. She also loved sharing stories of her childhood, from picking cotton to playing high school basketball for Satartia.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24, at 10:00 AM at Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, prior to the service. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Bentonia, Mississippi.
