Ernest Loyd Woodward, Jr.

Ernest Loyd Woodward, Jr., 79, passed away Friday, July 29,2022 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Ernest was born April 21,1943 to Ernest L., Sr. and Effie Lee (Searcy) Woodward in Archibald, Louisiana.

Ernest served in the military and was retired as a Specialist Four (E-4) from the United States Army on July 26, 1967.

Ernest spent many years of his life working as a farm equipment operator and retired from Mississippi Materials in 2015 as a loader operator. He loved fishing and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching golf tournaments, western movies, and tractor auctions.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Hwa Cha (Mun); daughters, Victoria (Daniel) Hargrove and Elizabeth (James) Fulgham; son, Ernest (Tammy Michelle) Woodward, III, 9 siblings, Joseph (Sue) Woodward, Gloria (Jackie) Morgan, Carey Woodward, Robert (Kay) Woodward, Sam (Joyce) Woodward, Simon Woodward, Herschel Woodward, Margie (Ricky) Laborde, Elmer (Dana) Woodward, 7 grandchildren, and (5) great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Herbert “Shot” Polk, James “Man” Woodward, Homer Woodward, Lonnie “Peanut” Woodward and Chris Woodward.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Glenwood Funeral Home, 145 Highway 80, Vicksburg, MS 39180.  The service will begin at 10:00 in the chapel.  Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery on Canada Cross Road in Edwards.

Pallbearers are Ernest L. Woodward, III, Robert Woodward, Sam Woodward, Simon Woodward, Elmer Woodward, Chester Woodward, Cameron Woodward, and Steven Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Jody Woodward and Carey Woodward.
