A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Eugene Frederick Hinton, Jr. will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Highland Colony Baptist Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Burial service will follow at the Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork, Mississippi.
Fred (Bo) Hinton was born on May 27, 1939 to Fred and Beatrice Hinton. He died on June 11, 2021 at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. He graduated from Rolling Fork High School where he played baseball and football. He graduated from Mississippi College in Clinton with a degree in Mathematics. He received a Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Physics from Middle Tennessee State University. He began his teaching career in Lumberton, Mississippi and followed that by teaching in Shelby and Brandon. He further served as Principal in Charleston, Title I Coordinator in Drew, and Headmaster at Sharkey-Issaquena Academy in Rolling Fork and Union Academy in Georgetown. He served in the Mississippi National Guard.
As a young boy he was baptized in the Rolling Fork First Baptist Church, and later proudly served this church as a Deacon. At the time of his death he was a member of Highland Colony Baptist Church in Ridgeland. In 1963 he married Linda Ellen Lee.
Fred (Bo) Hinton is survived by his wife, Linda Lee Hinton; his son, Rick Hinton, and wife, Stephanie; two grandsons, Gibb Lovorn, Chad Lovorn; granddaughter, Callie Grace Hinton; and sister, Shirley Hinton Williams. He was blessed with two loving great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stefanie Lee Hinton and his parents, Fred and Beatrice Hinton.
