Joyce Spencer, age 82, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of memories shaped by grit, laughter, and a deep love for the outdoor.
Born on December 25, 1943 in Madison Parish, Joyce lived life on her own terms. She was never one to sit still—unless it was in a deer stand at dawn or by the water with a fishing line in hand. Hunting and fishing weren’t just hobbies to her; they were part of who she was. She loved the quiet of early mornings, the thrill of the catch, and the stories that followed—usually told with a smile and no shortage of humor.
Above all, she was a proud mother to four boys, raising them with strength, independence, and a deep respect for hard work and the outdoors. Her sons were her greatest legacy, and she took immense pride in the men they became.
Joyce believed in living every day fully. She worked hard, laughed often, and appreciated the simple things: fresh air, good company, and time spent outdoors. She had a strong spirit, a sharp wit, and a heart that showed up for the people she loved.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Willliam Albert and Ola Louise Bedgood; husband, Charles Spencer; brothers, Albert Bedgood, Jr., Ed Bedgood, Henry Bedgood, Ronnie Bedgood, Sr., and Melvin Bedgood, Sr.; and sisters, Linda Lewis and Dora Antley.
