Faye Edwards went to join her Lord and Savior on January 20, 2022. She was born August 23, 1927 in Tupelo, Mississippi to Ida Lee and Horace Marion Threldkeld. She graduated from Tupelo High School and attended Blue Mountain College. On June 29, 1947, Faye married Robert Dixon Rutherford. Together they had five children. After moving to Rolling Fork in 1965, she worked at the Bank of Anguilla for many years. Following the loss of her husband, Faye married Phil Edwards. After Phil went to be with Jesus, she moved to Oxford, Mississippi.
Faye taught many Sunday school classes over the years and had a deep love for studying the Bible. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. As a disciple of Christ, she brought many to the Lord. “Bubba”, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, reflected her goodness in the way she cared for others. She had the gift of hospitality and was a gracious hostess for many family dinners and Sunday lunches. She was loved by all.
Bubba was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Bob Rutherford, Sr. and husband, Phil Edwards, parents Ida and Marion Threldkeld, son Bob Rutherford, Jr., grandsons, Swep Jenkins and Gerald Chatham, Jr..
She is survived by sister, Shirley Wheeler and brother, Jim Threldkeld (Jane), three daughters: Kathy Chatham (Gerald), Beth Jenkins, Amy Atchley (Randall), one son, Bill Rutherford (Mindy), eight grandchildren, and twenty nine great grandchildren.
On January 20, 2022, Faye Threldkeld Rutherford Edwards transferred her membership from Saint Andrews United Methodist Church in Oxford, Mississippi to God’s Eternal Kingdom.
Graveside service will be at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork, Mississippi.
