Funeral services for Mr. George Daniel “Dan” Osborne, age 91, will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church in Tallulah, Louisiana with Reverends Mr. and Mrs. Henry R. Stone officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah, Louisiana under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Mr. Osborne passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Tallulah, Louisiana.
Mr. Osborne was born September 10, 1928 in West Point, Mississippi. He married his wife, Mary Virginia, January 26, 1963, and they made their home in Lake Providence, Louisiana. Mr. Osborne was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lake Providence, Louisiana. He attended First United Methodist Church in Tallulah, Louisiana. Mr. Osborne served in the Army from 1947 to 1950 during the Koren War. He worked as a cotton buyer for 50 years. After his retirement as a cotton buyer, Mr. Osborne worked for the East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office for 15 years.
Mr. Osborne is survived by one son, Danny Osborne, wife Rhonda, of Mazon, Illinois, one daughter, Mary Frances Givens, husband Eric, of Tallulah, Louisiana, three grandchildren, Mary Beth Warner, husband Steve, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Megan Givens of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Molly Givens of Tallulah, Louisiana, one great-granddaughter, Mary Claire Warner, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, two sisters-in-law, Jane Jackson, husband Bob, of Charleston, Missouri, and Billie Russell, of Charleston, Missouri, one brother, Tom Osborne, of Mexico, Missouri, numerous nieces and nephews, and their beloved dog, Gigi.
Mr. Osborne was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Virginia Russell Osborne, 19 days ago.
Pallbearers are Tom Russell, James Reeves, Stephen Warner, Ryman Busby, Joey Hopkins, and Joseph Hopkins.
