Georgia H. Terry

Georgia Horn Terry passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, after battling a long illness with determination and faith. 

Born on March 2, 1953 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Dr. Lacy “Gebe” Horn and Elizabeth “Libby,” she enjoyed childhood with her two brothers, Jeff and Todd. She graduated from H.V. Cooper High School and earned an accounting degree from Mississippi College.

She and her husband, Robert, were neighbors as children and fell in love in adulthood. Married in 1984, they went on to have three children, Dr. Elizabeth Cutrell (Kenneth); Katharine (“Kate”); and Anna Terry (Jarrett Wadler). The family moved to Colorado in 1992, living there for almost 30 years before returning to Vicksburg. 

In recent years, she worked remotely as a travel agent, ultimately retiring from Cain Travel based out of Boulder, Colorado following a long and successful career. Georgia loved designing vacations for people and sending them all over the world. She traveled extensively herself and especially loved spending time in Pensacola Beach with her two grandsons, Benjamin and Alexander Cutrell.

Georgia is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jeff, and is survived by her brother, Todd. She was deeply loved and will be missed. The love she had for life and family will stay with us forever.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Meritt Health along with two wonderful nurses, Christie and Christie, and CNA Lois, with St. Joseph’s Hospice. She received excellent professional care along with comfort, warmth, dignity and friendship during a difficult time.

The service will be held on Friday, September 26, at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 900 South St., in Vicksburg. Visitation will be from 10am-11am in the parish hall with a service to follow in the nave. In lieu of flowers, Georgia requested that any contributions be made to the church or the charity of your choice.
