Gerald Brewer, Sr.

Gerald Brewer, Sr. passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025. He was 84 years old. He was born on October 2, 1940, to C.W. Brewer and Midget Jennings Chappell. He was an army veteran and former police officer for the city of Vicksburg, MS. Later retiring as an operator at Gulf Chemicals while pursuing multiple entrepreneurial interests enjoying time with family. Also, playing various instruments, listening to music, fishing, gardening, games, anything else outdoors and reading his Bible.

He is preceded in death by his parents, C.W. Brewer and Midget Jennings Chappell; brother, Woodrow Brewer; sister, Nancy Watts and Charlene Richie; granddaughter, Brandi Turnage.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Loften Brewer; sons, Gerald Brewer, Jr. (Anita), Dave Brewer and Dustin Brewer (Sherri); daughters, Carmen Wallace, Telia Balthorp (Zach) and Janet Dixon; brother, George David Chappell; sister, Shirley Roe; aunt, Polly Magee; grandchildren, Heather Gilliam (Daniel), Holly Johnson (Nick), Josh Brewer (Alexandra), Julie Hearn (Justin), Colton Brewer, Ella Brewer, Cory Wallace (Karla), Ashley McLellan (Ray), Megan Brewer, Bowden Balthrop and Brinley Balthrop; sixteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Colton Brewer, Gerald Brewer, Jr., Dave Brewer, Dustin Brewer, Johnnie Clack and Derek Latorre. Honorary pallbearers will be David Finch, Carey Clack, Burdy Bonvillain and Al Roe. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 2 P.M. with visitation from 12 P.M. till the hour of the service. Interment will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

The Procrastinators Fishing Tournament will be postponed waiting for everyone to arrive at the new location.
