Glenda Thornton, 65, passed away quietly at home, shortly after 6 am on April 20, 2024, after a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer.
Glenda, was born August 19, 1958, in Port Gibson, Ms. To Melvin and Augusta Pickett.

She is survived by her loving Daughter, R. Cassie McGibbon, Grandson, Daniel Anthony McGibbon, Husband, William Darrel Thornton, stepdaughter, Larami Elise Thornton (Brunson), and stepson, Heath Thornton.
She is also survived by her two sisters, Melva Powers (Donnie) and Charlotte Miller (David). Both of Vicksburg, Her sister-in-law Janet Beasley Pickett (Clint) and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceded in her death are her parents, Ora Agusta (Pat) Pickett and Melvin Clinton Pickett jr., maternal grandparents Herman and Laudee Williams (Hermanville) and paternal grandparents Melvin and Cascille Pickett (Utica) her brother Melvin Clinton “Clint” Picket III (Clinton) and sister Ellen Marie Pickett (Yates) (Vicksburg)

A celebration of life and visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral home (Vicksburg) on: Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.
   
In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to your favorite charity or to the Hermanville cemetery.
A private family burial will be held at Hermanville cemetery at a later date.
