Harvey Jordan Jones, Jr.

Harvey Jordan Jones, Jr. passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025. He was 79 years old.

Harvey was born in Jackson, MS on January 25, 1946, to his late parents Harvey J. Jones and Lillian Caulfield Jones. Harvey graduated Chamberlain Hunt Academy in 1965, he attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Junior College, and the of State of Mississippi Polygraph School. Harvey was employed at the State of Mississippi ABC, Wackenhut Security, and retired after 21 years of service as the Chief of Police with the City of Port Gibson, MS. He was a member of Washington Lodge #3 and Masonic Lodge of Research #640. Harvey was a Ham Radio Operator with the handles KE5WO and W5HJJ. He is preceded in death by his sister Patricia Jones Honeycutt and a brother Robert "Bob" Jones.

Harvey is survived by his wife Janice Boren Jones, son Kevin W. Jones (Laura), grandchildren Jordon Jones Poindexter (Scott) and Connor G. Jones, great-grandchildren Richmond Poindexter and Margaret "Maggie" Poindexter, and special friends Chris and Wanda Dunn.

A Masonic Service will be held graveside on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson, Ms.
