Helen Lavonne Garner passed away Friday, December 27, 2024, at Glenwood Medical Center in West Monroe, Louisiana, at the age of 80. Mrs. Garner was born January 19, 1944, in Newellton, Louisiana, to Hense and Willie Mae Cardin Gossett.
Mrs. Garner was a member at First Baptist Church in Newellton and loved going on trips with her church family. It was well known in the community that her favorite color was red, evidenced by her red brick house decorated with red furniture and fixtures. She loved wearing her red clothes accented with red jewelry. Everybody who knew her knew that if you gave her a gift the primary color better be red! Mrs. Garner was a loving wife and mother and loved summer camping with her family.
Mrs. Garner is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 plus years, Bobby Joe Garner; and two brothers, Danny Gossett and Buddy Gossett. She is survived by her son, Joe Garner (Monica); two grandchildren, Connor Garner and Madison Garner; two great grandchildren, Zayden Triplett and Ka’Zyiah Garner; brother, Joe Gossett (Angela); and sister, Robbie Merritt (Howard).
