Helen Hester Tankersley, 71, was born in Houlka, MS on November 27, 1948. She lived in Vicksburg, MS until 1989 when she moved to the Dallas metroplex where she resided till 2015 when she moved to Port Orchard, WA. Vicksburg would always be home to her. She loved her family dearly and returned to Vicksburg as often as she could to visit them. She enjoyed traveling, music, collected hummingbirds, her lapdogs Honey & Buddy, and spending time with her 3 grandchildren. While living in Vicksburg, she was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church under Pastor G.R. Travis where she taught Sunday School. While living in Plano, TX she attended Abundant Life Church under Pastor Dan L. Rigdon. She worked in the Plano Independent School District for 20 years as a School Cafeteria Manager till she retired. She is preceded in death by her Father & Mother, Alton and Irene Hester and her Grandmother, Willie Bell. She is survived by her husband Terry Tankersley, her three daughters; Katrina Jones, Heather Jackson(Jason), and Lacye Jones(JD), her three sisters; Diane Jacobs, Beverly Laird, and Tina Abney, her two brothers; Allen Hester and Gary Hester, and her three grandchildren; Sean Jackson, Alexus Dotson, and Sarah Potts.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 2pm at First United Pentecostal Church in Vicksburg, MS.
