Henry Smith Obituary

Henry Herman “Bud” Smith. Jr., 76, passed away peacefully at his home on June 14,2025, following a lengthy illness. 
Bud was born on January 19, 1949, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to the late Henry Herman Smith, Sr., and Thelma Ragland Smith. 
He dedicated over five decades of his life to the oil industry as a highly respected mechanic. He was employed with marathon LaToureau for more than 25 years before establishing VMI Marine in 1992. Later in his career, he owned and operated Quepos Coasters until his retirement in 2024. 
He divided his time between his hometown of Vicksburg and the United Arab Emirates. He had a deep appreciation for global travel, with Quepos, Costa Rica being among his favorite destinations. He also enjoyed bird hunting, spending time outdoors and relaxing with his pets, Lily and Mia.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Linda Smith Muster; and his brother, William “Billy” Smith. 
He is survived by his loving wife, Anastasiya “Natasha” Smith; daughters, Angie (Tom) Fulgham, Pam (Dan) Patterson, and Ekaterina Smith; stepson, Clayton (Paige) Currie; granddaughters, Kayla (Scott) Sommer and Hayley Patterson; step grandsons, Jordan (Alicia) Currie, Max Currie, Cooper Currie and step great-grandchildren Lily and Dan Sommer. 
Additionally, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Natasha (Vechaslav) Norosheva; brothers-in-law Ivan Norosheva, Kirill Norosheva and IIya (Oksana) Norosheva; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He leaves behind many dear friends, including Richard Caples, David Crouse, Bubba and Jan Diagre, Doug Dikes, Dee Hyland and Frank Vinson.
