James Ennis Edwards Jr. "Eddie" passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. He was 75 years old. Eddie enjoyed working, bass fishing and grilling. He was a family man that loved his Lord and studying the Bible. He loved his dogs, and he was a Mississippi State Bulldogs fan. He cherished his family vacations at the beach during the last 3 years.
Most people knew him as Mr. Eddie or Eddie. He was employed at Super Jr. as Manager, Meat Cutter and “Private Security” for over 20 years. Our family would like to let all patrons and employees of Super Jr. know “Eddie” lived to work and worked to live. Each person who interacted with him always brightened his day and kept him going. Lastly, we would like to express a special thanks to Management and the Owners of Super Jr. for allowing him to be a part of the Super Jr. Family. He loved you all and he would want us to let each of you know.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Edwards; daughter, Stephanie Edwards; brother, Mike Edwards (Teri); sisters, Mary Barley and Amanda Baker; grandchildren, Austin Edwards and Ashlyn Edwards Ross (Adam); one great-grandchild and one on the way; nieces, Jennifer Barley Tyer (William), Kristie Barley Droge (David), Emily Douglas Mason (Jeff); nephews, John "Brad" Douglas (Eva) and Chad Douglas (Sylena); and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Ennis Edwards and Eleanor Marks Edwards; son, Stephen Edwards.
Visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on May 2, 2025, at 10:30 AM. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bobby Anderson officiating the service.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses, CNAs at Gentiva Hospital and Loucinda Chester for taking care of him during the day.
