James Leon Nevels, III died Monday, November 25, 2024, peacefully at the home of his niece. He was 67 years old. James was a native of Lorman, MS. James was born in Cameron, LA.
James Levon Nevels, III is preceded in death by his parents James Leon Nevels, II and Mary Ruth Nevels, a brother William Barkley Nevels, a sister Frances Ann Fowler. He is survived by his wife Delores Nevels, and his step-children Adrian Ward (April), Danyelle Ward (Larry), his sisters Brenda Scott (George), Effie House (Steve) and Rose Mary Nevels, his brothers Richard Nevels (Sondra), Aldis Nevels (Tabatha), 6 step-grandchildren, 15 nieces and nephews, 20 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson, MS. The service will be officiated by Bro. Steven House. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nick Fowler, Jr. Ward, Jerrid Thompson, Jacob McBay, Taylor Arriagia and James McBay. Honorary pallbearers will be James Nevels, Troy Houghton, Derrick Durocher.
